travel headaches
oh, and i forgot to mention the increasing difficulties with planning my time in india. there's the issue of how to get from one place to the next since it's all very loosely organized and on "indian time" which means the schedule departure time of buses and trains isn't likely to be correct, the lack of comfortable buses between 3 of my locations, which means sitting on plastic seats, with no a/c, with no bathroom, for 5 hours...twice, there's the fact that guesthouses don't keep your reservation past a certain time, which at least in one place is proving difficult since the bus is "supposed" to arrive only a half hour before the absolute latest they'll hold the room, and lastly there's the issue of the economy which has threatened the viability of the airline i fly with to get to india (think, mergers, layoffs, employee strikes as a result, etc.). so yea, i have this strange feeling that i should just not even start with all of that and save india for another trip, when i can be more flexible with when/where/how i get places, when i have someone else with me to ensure safety with all these headachy type things, and when i can actually enjoy my time instead of worrying about all of these things. again though, i just don't want to disappoint people by cutting yet more out of my trip...lame
