Finally!

well i'm finally writing - sorry it took so long. and now i only have 2 minutes left on my internet time : ) so i'll make it quick. i arrived safely after a long long long day of travel (not fun) and am starting to get settled in. things are a little different than i expected, or i suppose, they're how i expected but didn't want to admit to expecting. i'm missing home and all the people i know and love and am a little uncomfortable here in Bangkok. i'm hoping when i go to sukhothai tomorrow things will get better and i can meet more people that i could actually spend a day with. everyone here is with someone else and they're all doing their own thing. which is great - and i hope to do the same, but it's still nice to have someone to eat dinner with, to know where you at, and all that. i should add that i'll be coming home early. i've decided to cross some of the cities off my itinerary that i just wasn't excited about anymore and that i wouldn't be comfortable in because of worrying about safety/money/etc. so i'm in the process of changing my tickets - but if all goes well i should be home on the 11th of december. hopefully this doesn't disappoint people - i'll still have plenty of pictures and will be able to enjoy myself and relax more this way because i won't be stressing about where i'm at. plus then i'll be home for christmas - woohoo! - and new years - also woohoo! anyway i haven't done much that's productive yet - except meet up with some really really nice friends of my dad's who helped me through my first day here (thank you gary and paula!!) which included a freak rainstorm that flooded the roads (that was fun since i was in a speeding taxi at the time - sound like mom maybe??? : P ) and my stuff getting locked in my room safe which had to be pried open after a half hour. all in a days time. anyway. i'll post next from sukhothai and should have some more interesting things to say
